About This Section

This part of Back Porch Pane Field Guide is given over entirely to new windows in Austin, TX, from first specification through to what the finished work should look like.

How the Guides Are Written

Articles are written to be read once, before a decision. The decisions a homeowner makes are almost always about specification and sequence, not about how a tool is held.

Commercial Position

Back Porch Pane Field Guide has no stake in which firm a reader ends up hiring. No contractor pays for placement, for a ranking, or for a particular opinion.

Where a Professional Takes Over

Nothing published here replaces a professional inspection. Treat it as preparation for getting a quote rather than as a substitute for one.

What This Section Covers

This section does one trade in one market, and leaves the rest alone. Austin, TX has its own conditions, and guidance written for somewhere else is often quietly wrong here.
